For St. Patrick’s Day, they say that everyone is Irish! Join me just a few days before for an Irish Dinner in honor of St. Patrick’s Day.
If you’ve ever been to Ireland around St. Patrick’s Day, the weather is generally not so great. In fact, the year we went for the parade, it was the first time in memory that they canceled the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin (not for the weather though – it was the year that Hoof and Mouth disease was spreading). We started almost every dinner with some type of soup. For this class, we will start with an Irish Beer Cheese Soup.
Since Ireland is an island, seafood is a staple there. We will make Mussels with a Champagne Cream Sauce. For our main course, we will use another product that has been made in Ireland for generations – Irish Whiskey. The entree will be Filet Steaks with an Irish Whiskey Cream Sauce.
Not to be outdone, for dessert we will use the other traditional Irish Beverage – Bailey’s Irish Creme along with some chocolate to create the Bailey’s Chocolate Mousse Torte. Be sure and join us for this celebration on Saturday March 14 at 6:00PM for a taste of Ireland.
